Pow -Wow Event.

Hello Everyone,

I went to a Pow-Wow event today and was very interesting indeed. The dancers showed their heritage in front of the crowds with vivid colors. Others showed and talked about the history from their ancestors, how they dressed, tools they used, and more. One of the very interesting  things  was their homes (TI PI) and how warm against the elements years around. The other part was their music on the Native American Flute(NAF). This part I always have enjoyed for many years because the sound of a NAF is different from all others.

I listen a Flutist play with his NAF, and the sound was very crisp and mellow. I personally own one and from time to time play it along. When I play it, I close my eyes and just let my imagination flow as the sound embraces me.  I 've learned more today of the American Indians and different tribes like: The Cheyenne, Cherokee, Seminole and Sioux. It is interesting to know how our the native people from this land changed their lives over time.

Hi Everyone,

Last week my wife, and I  were at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Ga. A place where tranquility is the main topic, and for those that want to meditate or prayer, they are very welcomed. I have been at this Monastery back in 1999 when there was not too much to see besides their small shop, the Bonsai's for sale, and some classes. Now it has transformed into more interesting things to see. They have a museum, two big shops (one shop for Bonsai and the other shop for Books, jewelry, religious items, Cd's, DVDs, food goods made in their monastery), a deli shop, and the Abbey Church. The grounds has a very peaceful lake, hiking trail and places where you can just sit relax all day read, write a book, and more.

The Abbey Church is big with wonderful stain glass windows. It opens from 4:00Am till 8:00Pm. We saw many photographers inside taking hundreds of pictures, sitting there for a long time. They have retreats for groups and individuals as well. We saw some people picking up chestnuts to buy along with other produce from their crops they grow on their land. We also learned that this is the only Monastery  in the State of Georgia. This was just another place to go on a wonderful sunny cloudless day enjoying the views, learning new things, and meeting new people along the way. Hope you enjoy the pic's, and let me know "What you think?"

New Journey.

Hi, Today is my first post on a Sunday night, clear outside, and the Stars so bright. The temperature is not hot, but refreshing. While most sleep, and I feel a little tired after a great day, I continue to type the words that keep me stretching. Today is gone and tomorrow a bright new day and what it has in store for us I cannot say.  I will continue with a post one day at a time, read ideas, read the comments of others, and what others have to say. This Journey will be fun, and great, everyone is welcome. I wait to read from others what you have to say. A Place for all who are open minded thinking inside, and outside the box. Share your travels, hobbies, movies, books, music etc. for this is: The Gathering  through the Blue Orb.
